Maintenance Engineer / Coordinator – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

Alkmaar, Netherlands

Contract Duration: 12 Month Contract (Potential Extension Available) on the Payroll

Language Requirement: Dutch Speaking

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to support both preventive and corrective maintenance activities for onshore industrial equipment. You will be responsible for preparing work packs, coordinating specialist involvement, and supervising a team of E&I technicians during execution. This role involves working on planned maintenance campaigns as well as ad-hoc corrective tasks in line with the annual maintenance plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed work packs for complex maintenance activities and Turnarounds (TARs)
  • Supervise and support E&I technicians during work execution
  • Oversee subcontractors and vendors on-site
  • Ensure all work follows approved procedures and safety standards
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings with Operations
  • Maintain and improve the preventive maintenance system (Maximo)
  • Conduct site visits for planning and execution purposes
  • Mark up and review technical drawings post-modifications
  • Conduct QA/QC checks on materials and services
  • Ensure timely reporting and work order closeout in Maximo
  • Review vendor inspection reports and initiate follow-up actions
  • Support the 3M planning process and provide feedback on job plans
  • Initiate and manage MOCs (Management of Change) where required
  • Promote strong safety culture and report any incidents or hazards

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (HTS/MTS+)
  • 5–10 years of experience in a similar industrial maintenance role
  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English
  • Valid VCA-VOL certification
  • Familiar with LV & HV systems (NEN3140 & NEN3840)
  • Knowledge of safety systems, field instrumentation, and industrial control networks
  • Experience with CMMS (preferably Maximo) and planning tools
  • Strong supervisory and coordination skills
  • Oil & Gas experience strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of related disciplines: inspection, process, and engineering
  • Familiar with risk assessment, hazard identification, and MOC processes
  • Up to date with current industry standards and technologies
