In this role, you will collect and manage financial and sustainability data from agricultural businesses and/or fishing vessels for the Business Information Network (BIN). You will maintain your own portfolio of agricultural businesses and/or fishing vessels.
Your job
As a (Financial) Administrative Assistant Agricultural at the Business Information Network of Wageningen University & Research, you will contribute to a reliable and up-to-date picture of the financial and sustainable performance of agricultural companies in the Netherlands. Thanks to your expertise in administration and your feeling for agricultural practice, data is carefully collected, checked and processed into valuable business information.
You keep track of your own package of companies within one of the following sectors:
Arable farming
Animal husbandry (dairy cattle, pigs, poultry, goats)
Horticulture (cut flowers, pot plants, (glass) vegetables, flower bulbs, trees, fruit)
In this position, you combine financial-administrative expertise with agricultural substantive insight. You build and maintain sustainable relationships with entrepreneurs – farmers and horticulturists – and collect the business data that is crucial for monitoring and (policy) research. You ensure that data is completely and accurately recorded in our systems.
This position is extremely suitable for recent graduates of HAS students and is a great opportunity to grow step by step into a financial administrative assistant. WUR is a good employer for experienced financial employees who would like to work in a less commercial environment.

The location for this position is Oisterwijk, but working from one of our other locations – Alkmaar, Drachten, The Hague, Goes, Holten, Meijel or Wageningen – is negotiable.
What you do on a working day:
You collect financial and sustainability data from accounts, invoices, digital files or via questionnaires;
You carefully record everything in our database, so that a reliable annual report can be drawn up for the participant;
You visit your entrepreneurs annually, collect missing data and explain the business report and the benchmark report;
You maintain good contact with your companies and recruit a few new participants every year;
You work at one of our (regional) offices and can work partly from home. You will be on the road to participants in your region about one day a week.

Your qualities
- Completed (business) economics education (MBO or HBO) or agricultural education (MBO or HBO), preferably supplemented with a diploma in modern business administration (MBA), or willingness to obtain it (training costs covered by us).
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing within an agricultural business and/or fishing vessel.
- Strong numerical skills, experience with digital accounting systems and/or financial automation processes, meticulous working methods, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with various colleagues and entrepreneurs.
- Possession of a valid driver's license (B).
- Excellent in Dutch (speaking and writing). Please note: Proficiency in Dutch is required for this position. If you do not speak and write Dutch at a sufficient level, unfortunately your application cannot be considered. In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3,231.- and € 4,374.- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 8). If you do not fully meet the job requirements yet, you may be placed in salary scale 7 as a starting point.
As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended – if possible within (company) organizational circumstances – on good performance. Of course, we are happy to have a conversation with you if you have any questions about this.
