Your new role
As a Lead Scientist in the Research and Development Processing Team, you’ll develop innovative processes for medical isotopes. You’ll manage lab employees, collaborate with partners, and oversee the entire process—from material qualification to end product preparation. Your goal is to implement robust processes in GMP facilities and supply medical isotopes commercially. Safety and quality are paramount, and you’ll work closely with experts in the field.As a Lead Scientist in the field of medical isotopes, you’ll tackle challenging projects with significant personal responsibility. These projects prioritise end user needs while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with experts from the FIELD-LAB team, both within NRG and external partners. Additionally, a personalised development plan will be created for you, and you’ll work in an enthusiastic team atmosphere.
What you’ll need to succeed
As Lead Scientist in the field of medical isotopes, we are looking for a minimum PhD level in radiochemistry, nuclear medicine or a related technical field. Ideally, you have 6+ years of working experience of developing nuclear medical products and translating R&D into clinical production. If you do not yet have 6+ years of working experience, we would still encourage you to apply as we are looking to hire more than one Scientist. As Lead Scientist, you must have a strong affinity with project management and proficiency in defining project approaches, estimating timelines, and adjusting strategies as needed. Affinity with process engineering and process automation is advantageous. Experience with (radio)chemical process automation is a plus. Understanding of nuclear safety procedures is required. Strong collaboration and communication skills in English as well as realistic approach to problem-solving skills are needed.
What you’ll get in return
Our client offers a direct contract for the duration of one year which can then be converted to an indefinite contract if this initial period goes well. A gross monthly salary between €4,500 – €5,900 is offered based on fulltime employment. 27 vacation days and 12 flex days based on fulltime employment with 8.3% end of year bonus and 8% holiday allowance. An attractive pension scheme and partial travel reimbursements based on distance (max 50KM one way).
